Every game has a story that just needs the right light to shine.
Nice to meet you! I’m Aydan, ludonarrative enthusiast. For me, it’s the possibility space: what can narrative be – and how is it unique – in games, compared to other media? To experience this journey while the map is incomplete gives me great joy. Plus I like words. How typical!
What do I do?
I am a narrative designer and writer, en route to my third year in the industry. My lodestar is symbiotic storytelling, tiptoeing the overlap between mechanics and narrative. I have an explorative flair – creative with the tools we have, curious about the ones we don’t – and a fondness for evocative diction. As a colleague, I strive for honesty, a common language (aka questions, lots of them), and open communication.
Outside of work, I nerd about other things: the how-tos of fashion (keyrings, everywhere!), Japanese grammar, indoor climbing, and cooking (most recently obsessed with pickling).
Bonus tidbits:
My name, Aydan, means of, or hailing from, the moon. It's also another name when spelled backward: Nadya. I see it as my undercover identity :)
